But, people also conduct a large volume of searches each month for an "affordable Dentist" or an "affordable Dentist near me". Dentistry certainly is expensive. Now, #3 directly above may surprise you. The key is, you don't always need to repair small tooth defects if no decay is present, the defect is not sharp and damaging nearby soft tissue (gums, cheek, tongue...), and the defect does not cause you to have pain when you eat.
When we provide Family Dentistry at our clinic, we often ask patients "does this bother you, feel sharp, or do you experience sensitivity?". These things matter because they should dictate whether or not small wear spots and chips are repaired.

Unless a patient expresses a concern with the appearance, shape, or whiteness of their teeth, we don't broach the subject of elective cosmetic treatment options. And, why would we? Doing so makes people feel insecure and they begin to scrutinize their teeth. And when people feel insecure about their appearance, they spend more money on their appearance.
